I was watching with great pleasure some short film with Terence McKenna and listening to him I got out some very interesting ideas:
is what is alarming about drug addiction,
that people behave like they are obsessed. On that scale,
of the twentieth century is television, and propaganda.
The most intelligent of us, the ones holding themselves most aloof are probably junkies when it comes to the media.
The media just makes you stupider, and stupider, and stupider.
* less able to formulate a creative response
* less able to tell what is real and what is not.
* less able to empower yourself.
We cannot afford the luxury of an unconscious mind …
We cannot afford the
that leads us into a conditioned response. We are an extremely violence prone neurotic species, and the price we pay, when the
to the rest of nature is interrupted we lose our baring. We need to
to care about the planet, much like the bees do, much like termites do,
but we are conscious creatures.
What I like about Terence is that he is so clear, so coherent, he speaks exactly what he intends to say. Magic! Besides, is there anything else to think of regarding our species?
